01 · Pools for hotels

A brand experience built around water

Pools for hotels directly shape the guest experience. They are places for rest, gathering, photography and brand recognition. Bassform creates interventions that differentiate boutique hotels, resorts and hospitality projects without making the pool feel disconnected from the architecture.

The work combines creative direction, technical criteria and coordination with interior design, landscaping, operations and construction. The composition must support both everyday experience and hotel communication. Guest flows, schedules, safety, cleaning, maintenance and material resistance under continuous use are also considered.

02 · Scope

Design for hospitality

01

Hotel identity

We translate values, history and visual language into a proposal that is recognisable without relying on obvious logos.

02

Guest experience

We study views, relaxation areas, circulation, photography and the relationship between the pool and wellness or dining spaces.

03

Operations and maintenance

We select systems and materials compatible with intensive use, cleaning protocols and operational requirements.

02B · Criteria

Planning criteria for pools for hotels

Architecture and proportion

Pools for hotels should be proportioned to the property rather than treated as an isolated object. The main viewpoints, building levels, terraces and garden circulation define the most useful position and scale. A clear geometry makes the artistic intervention easier to read and supports comfortable movement around the water.

Use, operation and maintenance

The design must anticipate who will use the pool, how often it will operate and who will maintain it. Private residences, hotels and shared developments have different access, safety, cleaning and service requirements. These practical decisions are included early so the visual proposal does not create avoidable operational problems.

Materials and technical compatibility

Every finish and artistic technique must be compatible with permanent immersion, water treatment, UV exposure, temperature changes and the prepared support. Materials are not chosen by appearance alone. Their behaviour, joints, repairability and installation sequence form part of the design and quality-control process.

Clear professional coordination

A successful project separates responsibilities between architecture, pool contractor, waterproofing, services, landscape design and artistic production. Bassform establishes review points and documentation so each specialist understands what must be completed before the next phase. This reduces interpretation on site and protects the intended result.

03 · Method

A controlled process from idea to installation

We work through clear milestones so management, design and operations can validate the proposal without blocking the opening or renovation programme.

01

Brand objectives

We review positioning, audience, architecture, programme and operational requirements.

02

Concept and visualisation

We develop an artistic and spatial proposal with key views for management and interior design teams.

03

Construction coordination

We integrate specifications with the contractor, project manager, engineering team and local suppliers.

04

Installation and handover

We supervise final integration and document the result for maintenance and communication.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work in operating hotels?
Yes, when the programme allows the area to be isolated and the intervention coordinated with operations. We also work during temporary closures and phased renovations.
Can the pool strengthen the hotel brand?
Yes. Composition, colour, geometry and artistic technique can express the character of the hotel without obvious promotional devices.
Which materials suit intensive use?
They are selected according to the water system, exposure, cleaning and planned maintenance, and validated within the technical process.
Can you coordinate with the project manager?
Yes. We work with programmes, reviews, documentation and clearly defined responsibilities within multidisciplinary teams.
Do you deliver projects outside Spain?
Yes. The studio coordinates international projects and adapts production and installation to the destination.
