A pool designed as part of the property

Pool design is not simply the choice of a shape. It requires an understanding of architecture, landscape, orientation, views and the rhythm of outdoor use. Bassform develops proposals in which water works as an architectural plane and the pool floor becomes an artwork visible from terraces, rooms and gardens.

Every project is tailored. We study proportion, scale, colour, materials and the relationship with the residence before selecting a technique. The aim is not to follow a catalogue, but to create an identity that feels coherent with the site and the people who use it. The design can be applied to new builds, renovations, residential pools, villas or hospitality spaces.

Planning criteria for pool design

Architecture and proportion

Pool design should be proportioned to the property rather than treated as an isolated object. The main viewpoints, building levels, terraces and garden circulation define the most useful position and scale. A clear geometry makes the artistic intervention easier to read and supports comfortable movement around the water.

Use, operation and maintenance

The design must anticipate who will use the pool, how often it will operate and who will maintain it. Private residences, hotels and shared developments have different access, safety, cleaning and service requirements. These practical decisions are included early so the visual proposal does not create avoidable operational problems.

Materials and technical compatibility

Every finish and artistic technique must be compatible with permanent immersion, water treatment, UV exposure, temperature changes and the prepared support. Materials are not chosen by appearance alone. Their behaviour, joints, repairability and installation sequence form part of the design and quality-control process.

Clear professional coordination

A successful project separates responsibilities between architecture, pool contractor, waterproofing, services, landscape design and artistic production. Bassform establishes review points and documentation so each specialist understands what must be completed before the next phase. This reduces interpretation on site and protects the intended result.

A controlled process from idea to installation

The design moves from general to specific: first we understand the site, then define the composition and finally coordinate its materialisation.

What makes Bassform pool design different?
The pool is studied as architecture and as a visual artwork. We start with the site, light, landscape and project identity rather than a closed model.
Can you work with a pool already designed by an architect?
Yes. We can work with an existing geometry, review its potential and develop the artistic and material proposal with the project team.
Does the design include renders?
When appropriate, we develop 3D and underwater visualisations to check scale, colour and reading from the main viewpoints.
Which technique works best?
It depends on architecture, use and light. Figurative art has strong presence, sculpture adds volume and mosaic offers rhythm, detail and geometry.
Do you also design the garden?
We can define integration criteria and coordinate with the landscape designer so the pool, terrace, planting and lighting form a coherent composition.
